I'm proud to announce that one of our many 10 man Ulduar teams finally completed 'Glory of the Ulduar Raider', which not only earned them
the glorious 310%-speed Rusted Proto-Drake mounts, but as well, earned the Descendants of Draenor a coveted place of 3rd in 10 man achievements
on Deathwing, directly behind Inertia and Enigma. Congratulations to the members on this team that executed Ulduar with superb precision.
On June 14th, the Descendants of Draenor defeated the final boss of Ulduar in heroic mode, laying waste to the Old God known as
Yogg-Saron. At the date of this execution, we are placed in the top 5.89% of the world's raiding guilds. Congratulations to all who made this
boss kill a reality. We will now turn our attention to the hard modes, and begin the quest to discover Algalon the Observer.
Our fourth weekend in Ulduar took us one step closer to revealing the secrets within the ancient titan city. As we descended into madness,
our next obstacle revealed himself in the form of General Vezax. It wasn't long before he lay dead at our feet. Congratulations to all the raiders
who participated in this Mother's Day kill. The path is now clear for the final battle between us and the Yoggster...
At the close of week 3 in Ulduar, the DoD raid team managed to wrap up the Keepers of Ulduar, finishing off Thorim, Hodir, Freya (in one pull, no less), and
Mimiron. As well, we were lucky enough to score our second Fragment. Congratulations to all who participated! We now descend into madness...
Week 2 of raiding Ulduar wrapped with DoD finishing off both the Siege and the Antechamber. With the deaths of Ignis the Furnace Master and Auriaya under our belts, progress now shifts to
The Keepers of Ulduar, and excellent work was made on Thorim, which should prove to be a kill by next weekend. Gratz to all the Noblegarden bunnies who participated in this week's raids.
Week 1 of Ulduar proved very successful for the Descendants of Draenor. The raid team did excellent work and progressed far enough to defeat
3/4 of the Siege, and 2/3 of the Antechamber. The bosses that fell were Flame Leviathan, Razorscale, XT-002 Deconstructor, Assembly of Iron and Kologarn.
Along with those five bosses, DoD was granted their first Fragment of Val'anyr, which begins our collection towards the Legendary hammer. Congratulations
to DoD for their exceptional raid work!
Last night, the Descendants of Draenor collected its finest raiders together and finally defeated Sartharion with all three of his drakes still alive. At long last,
DoD proudly displays the title of 'Twilight Vanquisher' to its fellow players on Deathwing. Additionally we were awarded both a Twilight Drake and an Azure
Drake from the evening's kill of Malygos. Congratulations to Wematanye and Cheeseus for their new mounts, and congratulations again to the raiding team of DoD on a job
very well done!
The Eye of Eternity proved the most difficult challenge of the three end-game raids in Wrath, yet still only took several iterations to perfect. Our total number of
attempts can be counted on one-hand. Malygos, the leader of the blue dragonflight has fallen, and with him, the remainder of all existing 25-man raid
content in WotLK. From here on out, the raiders of DoD will be focusing on achievements. Congratulations to all, and a job well done!
The Descendants of Draenor walked into Naxxramas on the evening of Friday, Dec. 15, to begin our work on the heroic 25 man version of the
classic WoW dungeon. After four hours, 3 entire wings had been cleared, with all but two bosses being one-shot. We then returned Sunday,
finished the fourth and final wing, the frost wyrm Sapphiron, and the lich Kel'thuzad himself. Shocked and amazed, but excited with the success
and the rewards, we stood triumphant in the throne room for our kill-shot. Congratulations to all who participated! Next up: the leader
of the Blue Dragonflight himself, Malygos...
Sunday, Dec. 7 marked the return to 25-man raiding for the Descendants of Draenor, and we kicked things off with a bang by
one-shotting Sartharion. This sets the stage for the raid team to reap many rewards in Wrath of the Lich King, and we plan to be
in Naxxramas by the weekend. Congratulations to all who participated, and welcome back!
This weekend, the Descendants of Draenor rallied and laid siege to all Alliance faction leaders. One by one, the four leaders were slain as the might
of the Horde triumped. Congratulations to all of the members who participated in this event and now proudly show off their Black War Bears.
April 6, 2007 was DoD's official TBC 25-man raid start date, as it was the first kill of High King Maulgar in Gruul's Lair. 534 days later, only 6
of that original team remained (while 2 were standing by) for our first kill of Illidan Stormrage, and bore witness to the completion of our 25-man raid
goal, set forth by Kerulak on the launch day of The Burning Crusade. We saw many players come and go, and we experienced both incredible fights, and innumerable
hurdles.
Congratulations to the DoD raid team, both past and present, for their overwhelming contributions and sportsmanship, their skill, and their love of WoW
and DoD, to keep coming back, week after week, to get bosses killed. What's next for DoD? A well-earned break, and with a little luck, some more T6, some warglaives,
and perhaps even a taste of The Sunwell.
The amazing accomplishments of tonight's DoD raid-team won't soon be forgotten! Here are the stats: 1 raid night. 23 pulls. And, the first pull we managed to drop his
health below 50% ended up becoming the guild's first kill of Archimonde the Defiler, which also marked our first full clear of Mount Hyjal. Congratulations
to all of the many raiders who contributed to learning this fight and came prepared to drop the Eredar at the base of Nordrassil. This also marks our first
Tier 6 helms in guild, congratulations to Neps, Corivs, and Ekasra for that honor. At this pace, it won't be long before we arrive at the doorstep...of the betrayer.
In what will be remembered as one of DoD's finest evenings in raiding history, We started our night by returning to The Eye,
for our 5th night of work on Kael'thas Sunstrider. After only two warmup pulls to get our bearings, we transitioned cleanly into
P4, and burned hard, attemping to outlast the randomness of Kael's mindcontrolling with raw power. Before we knew it, Kael was at
50%, and we were moving into P5. Keeping calm and focused, we swam through the Nether, moved away from flamestrikes, and burned
every Phoenix until at last, there was only Kael...dead. Congratulations to the raiders of DoD, you have risen up against almost
impossible odds!
The night was not yet done; we had one sad panda aboard the 25-man raid who had not yet collected his Vial from Vashj. We reformed,
set out for SSC, and shortly stood face-to-face with the vicious Naga once again. In only one pull, we destroyed Vashj and her coilfang
minions, granting the final raid-member his vial...and passage to Mount Hyjal.
Once we had gathered back at the Caverns of Time, our raid-team plunged into the depths of Mount Hyjal's gateway, and got their first
look at what was in store for the next tier of raiding. After making some last-minute adjustments, we began to take on the countless
waves of ravenous undead. As we cut them apart, we soon found ourselves face to face with the first boss, Rage Winterchill. We didn't
know what to expect, but adapted as best we could. Rage killed a good many of our raid-team on that first pull, but we decided to
keep going as long as we could. The end drew near, we were only two priests, two paladins, two druids, a warrior and a mage...but slowly
we saw his health dip to 3%...then 2....then 1...and, lo: Rage Winterchill fell on the first pull by the Descendants of Draenor.
This weekend, which marked the 2 year anniversary of our first kill of Onyxia, the raiding team of Descendants of Draenor made history once again. First, on Friday, we cleared all the bosses in SSC with time to spare, thus giving us a shot at an old friend: Al'ar, the Phoenix God. We hadn't been back in many weeks so none of us were truly prepared for how well we would do. After only one pull, Al'ar was dead at our feet. An amazing accomplishment pulled off after having been away for so long.
But...the story does not end there...
On Sunday, to mark the birthday of our Healing Raid Leader, Breginna, we returned to SSC for our third night of work on Lady Vashj. After working on the Lady for nearly 10 hours across three nights, we finally (after a heartwrenching 1% wipe) pulled out all the punches, and finally dropped the naga in her lair. Serpentshrine Cavern is now officially cleared, and we turn our attention onward and upward to Solarian, and eventually...Kael'thas Sunstrider. Congratulations to every single present-and-past individual of DoD that was able to contribute and make this kill a reality!
